Last week, Kendall Bobula and Alexis Steele from our DEMHS team had the opportunity to attend the National Homeland Security Conference in Miami, FL. They were able to represent Connecticut and hear from CISA Director Jenn Easterly about the latest strategies in combating mis/dis/mal-information, participate in numerous breakout sessions focused on engaging and reaching the entire community, and learn about the continuation of FEMA preparedness grants, and much more. It was a week filled with learning, growth, and valuable connections with peers from across the nation. Thanks to the National Homeland Security Association for hosting a great event! #NHSC2024

Yesterday, after many months of planning and coordination, DEMHS in partnership with the Connecticut Department of Public Health, Connecticut Army National Guard, and the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities, hosted the 2024 Emergency Management Symposium. This year, attendees had the opportunity of choosing smaller, interactive breakout sessions with topics from five different public safety tracks. It was a great day of informative workshops, engaging discussions, networking opportunities, and vendors showcasing relevant products and services! Thank you to all who attended, the planning committee, and the Connecticut Military Department for hosting at beautiful Camp Nett! #emergencymanagement #publichealth #homelandsecurity
